#6712 Sheriff’s Showdown
Today’s set is not my own, it belonged to one of my younger sisters, but I found all the pieces and the instruction booklet along with my own LEGO at our parents’, so I’m posting it here before giving it back to her next time we meet. Which may be a while because of the ongoing pandemic…
#6712 Sheriff’s Showdown is from 1996, well after I entered my dark ages, but it may actually have been myself giving it to my sister for her birthday. Neither of us knows for sure, but it seems likely.
The build is super simple, with only four steps to complete the campfire using just seven pieces. I’ll skip taking pictures of each step this time, let’s get straight to the final result!
Even though it’s a simple build I think the set has great play value.
We’ve got a horse and two minifigs along with some nice accessories—hats, a black scarf for the bandit, a frying pan, money, dynamite, revolvers, a rifle, a green bush, and a big barrel for the bandit to hide in. All in true western style.
When taking the saddle off a LEGO horse, many sets have provided pieces to fill the gap in the horse's back, and this set does too.
I found that those pieces also double up as support for a minifigure if placed in the barrel (as seen on the main post image above).
I’m sure my sister’s oldest kid will be delighted to play with this set once it’s back with its rightful owner.
